About

I am an artist and illustrator with over 16 years’ experience in the industry. My clients include:

The Savoy London, The Dorchester Hotel and Collection, Hilton Park Lane, The Chedi Andermatt, Bristol Hotel, Topshop, Loewe, Bionda Castana, Emap, Coco de Mer, Apartment Therapy, Anna-Karlin Karlsson, Daks London, Quintessentially Events, Arena Flowers, Reem Acra, The Telegraph, The Wall Street Journal, The Fold London, DAKS London, among many others.

Over the last year, I have expanded my creative output and begun to experiment with painting. This has been both a
revelation and a re-learning, in order to free myself from the shackles of the proscriptive design briefs and company
branding that were so much a part of my illustration work.
My art began in fashion, but branched out from squeaky clean editorial spreads and runway chic to seek out opera
houses, crumbling theatres, and fairytale forests. I seek a femininity that is open and raw as an opium poppy but keeps
grace and poise with Victorian formality. Ultimately, I enjoy contrast. The more jarring, the better. My chaotic
temperament makes itself known in my art and I work quickly and spontaneously, often making a lot of mess in the
process. I strive to keep a lightness of touch that allows me to explore challenging subject matter with whimsy and
humour whilst avoiding worthiness.

I studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poland, which included a scholarship at Falmouth College of Art in Cornwall. I have lived and worked in Cornwall since 2007.

Education: MA Fine Arts – Academy of Fine Arts, Katowice, Poland, 2002 -2007

I strive for a timeless, unreal quality, where symbology vies with frivolity and modernity locks horns with mythology. My artistic approach extends to the ornate, reclaimed frames that I find and collect, somewhat obsessively. These are old and opulent. I work with them from the start, choosing the frame and allowing it to influence the painting it will house. They are precious and as much a part of the finished piece as the painting is to me.
